Practice Areas
Tom Repczynski is a creditor-side bankruptcy attorney, estates and trusts litigator, real estate litigation lawyer, and principal with Offit Kurman’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group. Tom focuses his practice in general commercial and civil litigation with an emphasis on fiduciary disputes, creditors' rights enforcement, and real estate related matters of all types. Tom represents an array of lenders, businesses, and individual clients from across the country in federal, bankruptcy, and state court and administrative proceedings with a broad range of trust and estate (i.e. inheritance related) disputes and general business contract and tort issues. Tom's bankruptcy-related experience has most recently emphasized non-debtor spouse priority claim matters (advising and assisting divorce/family law counsel), commercial landlord and Chapter 7 panel trustee representation, and includes more than 16 years of preference claims defense, and other secured, unsecured, and priority creditor representation in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings with both local and national implications.

Points of Distinction
Tom's work as a bankruptcy attorney was recognized on the SmartCEO 2010 Legal Elite list (December 2010). He is a member of the Leadership Fairfax Class of 2010, and is a past recipient of the Fairfax Bar Association's President's Award. Additionally, Tom has served as president of the Northern Virginia Bankruptcy Bar Association (NVBBA) and is a former member of both the Bar Liaison Committee to the Alexandria Division of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee for the EDVA. Tom previously held the office of president of the Ocean Sands South Property Owners Association in Corolla, North Carolina and is a past chairman of his Fairfax County, Virginia, community association’s Architectural Review Board. He has served as president and member of the board of directors of the Walter T. McCarthy Law Library in Arlington, Virginia; and is a past chairman of the FBA's Library Committee with oversight responsibilities for the Fairfax Public Law Library.
Activities
Tom served as General Counsel to the Fairfax Bar Association for the 2012-13 year and currently serves the FBA as Secretary and a member of the board of directors and both the investment and budget committees. He is a former Assistant Scoutmaster and currently serves as Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 688 (Fairfax Station, VA). Tom calls balls and strikes for the West Springfield Little League as a member of the Virginia Umpire's Association and holds his USSF Level 8 certification as a soccer referee. Additionally, Tom is a member of the DC chapter of the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network and a class officer for his Dartmouth alumni class.
