PRACTICE FOCUS

Ms. Thorn's practice focuses on estate planning, trust and estate administration in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, and on related areas of federal and state tax law involving transfers of family wealth to succeeding generations, family trust matters, and tax planning. She assists clients in planning for after-death disposition of property, identifies opportunities to minimize estate and income taxes and plans for incapacity during the client's lifetime. Ms. Thorn prepares Estate, Fiduciary Income and Gift tax returns; drafts and advises clients on complex estate planning documents. She works closely with fiduciaries on probate and guardianship matters.

PAST EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Offit Kurman as a Trusts and Estates attorney, Ms. Thorn worked in the areas of Trusts and Estates, Real Estate and Business Law in Washington, D.C. and Bethesda, MD.
