PRACTICE FOCUS
Mr. Bateman handles a wide variety of civil litigation, with particular emphasis on business litigation, lenders rights and collection, real estate, and domestic relations. He has tried multiple cases before the circuit courts, general district courts, and juvenile and domestic relations courts of Virginia. While he is passionate about litigation, he understands that his clients’ goals are sometimes best achieved through thoughtful and effective negotiation. The combination of Mr. Bateman’s education and experience maximizes his efficacy both in and outside the courtroom.
Mr. Bateman earned his law degree (Juris Doctor), cum laude, from Regent University Law School. While attending law school, Mr. Bateman clerked for the Supreme Court of Virginia and was a senior staff editor for the Regent University Law Review. Mr. Bateman and his teammates won the American Bar Association’s 2005 Labor and Employment Law Student Trial Advocacy Competition.
Mr. Bateman earned his master’s degree (LL.M), with highest honors, from George Washington University, where he focused his study on litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
