Points of Distinction

Mr. McRae offers detailed legal and practical knowledge, a successful track record as a real estate lawyer, and a steady hand in structuring, documenting, and consummating business and real estate transactions for a wide range of clients. Because he has extensive experience representing sellers as well as buyers, landlords as well as tenants, lenders as well as borrowers, and a diverse array of other clients, he dialogues skillfully and effectively with the parties and counsel on the other side of each transaction to attain his clients’ objectives and resolve differences in a professional and respectful manner. He frequently manages complex projects and has a proven ability to communicate difficult subjects in understandable terms.

Mr. McRae’s recent achievements include assisting a Maryland property owner in negotiating and completing a long-term ground lease of a restaurant pad site to a major restaurant chain; assisting one of the firm’s institutional lender clients in completing numerous loan transactions (including loan participation transactions with other lenders) in several states; assisting an international business consulting firm in negotiating an agency agreement with a U.S. technology company to develop business relations with a leading oil company in Brazil and assisting a Maryland real estate investor and developer in completing a residential condominium conversion in Baltimore City. Mr. McRae has also assisted individuals with the transactions that mattered most to them, such as negotiating private loans, transferring interests in commonly owned properties, and resolving boundary line disputes with neighbors.

He was named to the Greater Washington’s Legal Elite list in 2010, which is a readers' poll conducted by Washington SmartCEO magazine.
