Bethesda, MD | February 24, 2014  — Ira E. Hoffman, a Principal in the Cybersecurity, Government Contracts and International Practice Groups at Offit Kurman, P.A., has been named a workshop panelist at the Defensive Cyberspace Operations & Intelligence (DCOI) Cyber Conference, to be held at Tel Aviv, Israel on April 8-9, 2014.  The conference, which is co-sponsored by Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and the U.S.-based CyberSecurity Forum Initiative (CSFI), in cooperation with the Israeli Ministry of Intelligence, the Prime Minister’s Office, National Cyber Bureau, and the Office of the Chief Scientist, will be keynoted by the Israeli Minister of Intelligence, Dr. Yuval Steinitz.  Mr. Hoffman, the only U.S. lawyer invited to speak at the conference, will be a panelist at the workshop titled “Strategic Operational Simulation.”  Joining Mr. Hoffman on the workshop panel, which will be moderated by Paul De Souza, Founder/President of CSFI and Daniel Cohen, Coordinator of the Military and Strategic Affairs Program at INSS, are Maj. Gen. Harold “Punch” Moulton (USAF Ret.), former Director of Operations, U.S. European Command; Real Admiral Norman R. Hayes (USN Ret.), former Director, National Security Operations Center at NSA; and J. Allen Lewis, Founder, Cyber Defense Training Systems, LLC.  “Since more than half of the cyber attacks against targets in the U.S. originate from overseas, intensified international cooperation in defending against cyber threats is imperative.  The DCOI conference, which features high-level participants from both the U.S. and one of our closes cyber allies — Israel — will help improve cybersecurity in both countries,” said Hoffman.  Please click here for more information on the conference.
