Two Associates Join Offit Kurman’s Bethesda Office
Sebastian Forgues and Maurice (Mac) VerStandig have joined the Bethesda office of Offit Kurman. Sebastian Forgues is a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Mac VerStandig is a member of the Family Law Practice.
“Our Bethesda office is extremely busy. We desperately needed some more people in the trenches” says Tim Lynch, Practice Group Leader for Litigation. He added, “We are delighted to have found such skilled associates to join us.”
Sebastian Forgues came from a civil defense firm where he served as lead attorney during all stages of litigation, including management of complex discovery and drafting dispositive motions. There, he maintained regular contact with clients and insurance carriers to develop and implement case strategy. Mr. Forgues also led settlement negotiations and drafted multi-party confidential settlement agreements.
Sebastian was law clerk to the Honorable David A. Boynton at the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland, in the Track IV: Complex Civil Litigation rotation.
Maurice VerStandig just finished a year serving as law clerk to the Honorable Steven G. Salant on the Montgomery County Circuit Court, during which he worked closely with the judge to manage matters including divorce proceedings, custody contests, commercial disputes, appellate reviews of District Court proceedings and appointments of trustees and receivers. He is licensed in both Maryland and Florida.
