The Women’s Connect Group At Offit Kurman Partners With Dress For Success For First Annual Suit Drive & Networking Event

Bethesda, MD | November 11, 2013 – The Women’s Connect Group at Offit Kurman partnered with Dress for Success of Washington, DC to host a Suit Drive and Networking Event on October 24, 2013. “The amount of support we received for this event was phenomenal,” stated Ms. Revée Walters, an Offit Kurman associate. Over 1,000 items of clothing, jewelry, shoes, purses, and scarves were donated for this great cause. “It was a great demonstration of how professional women are committed to networking and fostering relationships with one another, as well as dedicating themselves to service activities that uplift those in need in the greater Washington DC metro community.”   This was the kickoff event for the newly established Women’s Connect Group. The purpose of Women’s Connect will be to quarterly sponsor a non-profit organization and host an event for women in the DC Metropolitan area, from all professional backgrounds, to engage in community service oriented activity.

Dress for Success (DFS) is a non-profit organization that helps promote working professionals by providing women with professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help them thrive in both work and personal life. The Women’s Connect Group was honored to share this evening with such an empowering and generous group of women professionals, and truly appreciated the support of Kathleen Yates, Office Manager at Dress for Success (kyates@dfsdc.org) and Karen Clark, board member of Dress for Success (kclark@cbiz.com).

This event was hosted by Revée Walters and Sara Donohue of Offit Kurman.
Revée Walters is an associate in the areas of business litigation, landlord tenant law, and family law. She represents a wide variety of clients in mediations, agency proceedings, and state and federal court litigation. In her representation of clients in diverse and complex commercial and housing matters, her work involves public accommodation and fair housing litigation, breach of lease, breach of contract, securities fraud, shareholder disputes, and employment discrimination law. When working on family law matters, she dedicates her time to representing clients in matters including divorce, child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, property division and division of retirement benefits. She also handles prenuptial and post nuptial agreements, negotiating and drafting separation agreements, and post-judgment proceedings.

Sara Donohue has worked as a family law attorney for over twenty-five years; Ms. Donohue has practiced in the field of domestic law in both Maryland and the District of Columbia. Her practice includes working on complex divorce and custody matters. In addition to handling matrimonial matters in the traditional negotiation and litigation modes, she has been trained in Collaborative Law and is a member of Collaborative Divorce Association, Inc.  Ms. Donohue also has an interest in the practice of adoption law.
