For Immediate Release

Washington, DC | August 9, 2013 – John Raftery, Chair of the Landlord Representation Group at Offit Kurman, is scheduled to present  as a featured panelist  at the Mid-Atlantic Affordable Housing Management Association’s  (AHMA) Fall Conference.  The Fall Conference will be held in Richmond VA, November 12-14th.

Mr. Raftery will be representing management’s legal perspective in a “crossfire” debate on Landlord-Tenant Law.  Representing the residents’ perspective will be Marty Wegbreit, an attorney with Central Virginia Legal Aid Society in Richmond VA. Alice Fletcher will be serving as moderator.  Ms. Fletcher, Director of Property Management with Park Properties in Charlottesville VA, is Vice President /President-Elect on the Mid-Atlantic AHMA Board.

This interactive debate entitled “Wait, Wait, Don’t Evict Me!” offers the perspectives of both management and tenant   on how to set up, or defend, an eviction from federally subsidized housing for non-payment of rent or other good cause.  This debate is sure to be both educational and entertaining.
