Ira Hoffman Is Featured Panelist In Baltimore Business Journal’s “Knowledge Is Power”
Baltimore, MD | June 21,2013 – International Trade Law expert Ira E. Hoffman was a featured panelist today as the Baltimore Business Journal kicked off its 2013 “Knowledge is Power” (KIP) series with “Going Global: How to grow your small business by accessing customers abroad.” Moderated by Eddie Resende, Strategic planning director of the World Trade Center Institute, the panel of experts from accounting, banking and law addressed issues on pro-actively managing international trade and business. Topics addressed included state and federal resources available to small business, minimizing risk, protecting intellectual property and currency conversion issues as they affect performance on contracts.

ABOUT IRA HOFFMAN
Ira E. Hoffman is a prominent legal adviser, advocate, author and speaker on government contracts, export controls, and other international law issues. He is the editor of The Annotated Export Administration Regulations Desk Reference (West, 2013); and a director of the Public Contracting Institute, LLC, where he teaches seminars on export controls and international contracting. He has also taught International Trade Law and European Union Law as an adjunct professor at the George Mason University School of Law, and has published articles on exports controls and other aspects of international compliance. In addition to maintaining an active international trade and business law practice, he also frequently serves as a consultant and an expert witness in export and import compliance matters and conducts international trade compliance training.
Mr. Hoffman has been practicing law for more than 25 years, counseling and representing companies in various aspects of international trade and business. He focuses his practice on the areas of government contracts, international trade law, international procurement, national security law, complex civil and administrative litigation, and alternative dispute resolution.
