Corporate Attorney Michael Mercurio Represents Cyber Contractor Alapko in Sale to Subsystem Technologies, Inc.
On May 21, 2013, Annapolis–based government contractor Alapko, Inc. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Subsystem Technologies, Inc. (SUBSYSTEMs).
About The Transaction:
Having established a presence within a number of federal government agencies, including the Army, DHS, DOJ, DOT and FAA, Subsystem Technologies, Inc. was looking to acquire a company to strengthen its current capabilities and competitiveness in cyber security and software engineering and expand within the Intelligence marketplace, especially in regard to government IT and management consulting.
Similarly, Annapolis based Alapko was seeking a strategic partner to support its continued growth in the Intelligence marketplace, while leveraging its deep customer relationships and exceptional reputation in cyber security and budgetary accounting capabilities, built over the past five years, since its founding in 2008.
Commented Mr. Mercurio, who represented Alapko in the transaction:
“Matt Zerphy and John Kovach, the principals of Alapko, were a pleasure to work with as they understood the intense demands required of the legal transaction. Matt and John balanced their time appropriately and never lost sight of the goals – managing their business to not miss a beat while satisfying the rigors demanded by the buyer. Matt and John are first class businessmen and entrepreneurs. The buyer is lucky to have them join their team.”
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. For more information on Alapko, Subsystems and/or the transaction, please see the statement put out by the parties. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49481077/SUBSYSTEMs-ALAPKO%20Press%20Release_FINAL.pdf
